No. The file is read entirely in your browser — the PNG chunk walk, the JSON parsing, all of it happens on your device. Nothing is sent to a server until you choose to continue into the create flow, and even then only the fields you saw in the preview come along.

Character.AI doesn't offer a card export, so there's no one-click path from there. If you've saved your character as a Tavern card through a third-party exporter, that file imports here. If not, the create flow rebuilds them by hand in about three minutes — and this page's preview shows exactly which fields to bring over.

Their name, their pronouns (inferred from the card's description), the closest matching Bae vibe, and a short distillation of their personality and look — which you can edit before continuing. Chat history doesn't transfer; memory starts fresh here and then actually holds.

The PNG's art stays yours — we read the character out of it, not the image. Bae generates a realistic, consistent face for them instead (the same person in every photo), which you can tweak or regenerate in the create flow.
