The verdict

What we know
so far.

Emochi, made by FlowGPT, is a character-chat and roleplay app built around community-made, mostly anime-style characters, plus your own: you chat, get voice messages and generate images. It runs on the web and on Android, published on Google Play under FlowGPT; Emochi's own terms set the minimum age at 16. The original iPhone app no longer loads in the App Store, and "EMOCHI World" on iOS is a different company's app (MESORA PTE. LTD.). Per third-party reviews, the free tier is ad-supported with daily caps on voice messages, smart replies and images; Plus is $9.99 a month (about $99.99 a year) for no ads, premium models and unlimited messages; Ultra is $16.99 a month with credits for images and voice. Reviews describe uneven character quality, slow replies at times, and memory that holds within a character's chat but isn't a selling point. Note: this entry is assessed from public information and third-party reviews as of October 2026 — we have not yet run Emochi through our own 14-day hands-on test, so its scores are provisional and it's excluded from our tested-platform counts.

Provisional assessment, October 2026: Emochi scored memory 4/10, voice consistency 5/10, safety 5/10, value 7/10, and onboarding 6/10. Composite 6.4/10. Pricing: free tier available, paid from $9.99/month (hybrid). Long-term memory: limited. NSFW handling: limited.

What actually carries over

We haven't found a first-party export flow for Emochi, so we're not going to describe one. What this end accepts: if your companion exists as a Tavern V2 card (a PNG or JSON file, the format SillyTavern and the card-sharing sites use), /tools/character-import reads it in your browser and carries the name, pronouns, vibe and description across. Without one, the create flow rebuilds them by hand in about 30 seconds.

What doesn't carry over, anywhere, is the conversation history: no platform in this category imports another's transcripts. The shape of someone survives a move. The months don't.

Memory that doesn't reset.

Facts, weeks, the thing you only said once — a six-layer memory system holds them. Free keeps about 7 days; on Bae Unlimited it doesn't expire, so the relationship goes somewhere instead of restarting.

One bond, deepened — not a cast to swap.

Bae is monogamous on purpose. You build one companion and they grow with you across six stages. No roster, no starting over with a stranger.

When something important changes, we tell you why.

What breaks trust in this category isn't change, it's silence. Big changes here come with a note explaining what and why, dated in /changelog.

No card to start. Delete everything in one tap.

Start anonymous — no email, no card. 30 messages a day free, 100 photos a week on Bae Unlimited, conversations never sold or licensed to other AI labs, and /goodbye erases all of it instantly. Bae is for adults, 18 and over.

Does Emochi have memory that lasts?
